UPDATED: Pedestrian hit on Fifth Avenue near Spruceland

A woman was critically injured Sunday after being struck by a truck near the corner of Fifth Avenue and Ahbau Street.

The accident occurred just after 10:30 a.m. The woman was removed from under the full size pickup truck and transported to hospital for treatment.

Police say it appears the collision occurred at or near the intersection of Fifth Avenue and Ahbau Street.  Alcohol does not appear to be a factor.

The driver, a 68-year-old man from Prince George remained at the scene and was cooperative with police.  

The investigation is just beginning.  Police would like to speak to anyone that may have witnessed this incident.  Witnesses are asked to contact the Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300.
