Hit the library for spring break fun

The Prince George Public Library will offer a range of free programs for elementary and high school students every day from March 18-22. The programs all take place at Bob Harkins Branch, downtown.

Highlights include A Day with Kym Gouchie and Steampunk Harry Potter.

A Day with Kym Gouchie will take place on Wednesday, March 20. In the morning, people of all ages are invited to join Gouchie for shaker-making and rock-painting. Participants are encouraged to bring their own special rocks. In the afternoon, Gouchie will give a one hour performance, when those with shakers can join her for a song.

Steampunk Harry Potter is open to youth ages 10 – 18 yrs. Participants are encouraged to dress in steampunk-inspired Harry Potter costumes on Thursday, March 21. Activities will include STEAM projects, such as soothing slime potions, levitating charms, and secret coding. There will also be Quidditch ping pong, and a photo booth.

Teens, 13 – 18 years, who attend any teen program are eligible to enter a draw to win a pair of tickets to Northern FanCon in May. The tickets were provided courtesy of the Friends of the Prince George Public Library. Draws take place every week.
