First Nations LNG Alliance holds session in PG Thursday

The First Nation LNG Alliance Society will be hold a regional session and job fair in Prince George Thursday.

The event will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Civic Centre and will be co-hosted by PGNAETA. Derek Orr will be the master of ceremonies for the day’s events which will include opening remarks by Karen Ogen-Toews, CEO of the First Nations LNG Alliance Society.

At 10:30 a.m. there will be a panel discussion: Economic Benefits – Jobs & Opportunities featuring speakers Chief Archie Patrick, Stellat’en First Nation; Chief Crystal Smith, Haisla Nation; Karin Hunt, Executive Director, PGNAETA; Chief Jackie Thomas, Saik’uz First Nation (TBA).

At 1 p.m. Brenda Ireland, M.A. Advisor, Indigenous Training and Employment Development Workforce Development Working Group (BC) will speak, followed by Tom Sigurdson, Executive Director, BC Building Trades at 2 p.m.

Barry Nikal, North Business Manager, Domcor will speak at 2:45 p.m. and Ogen-Toews, CEO will give the closing remarks.
