Man arrested after altercation at hotel

A 31-year-old Prince George man was arrested Tuesday following a commotion at the Pomeroy Inn and Suites.

Police were called shortly before 2 p.m. to a report of a man who was behaving in a bizarre manner.  It was reported that he was running around the lobby and had attempted to punch a staff member.

Upon arrival, Prince George RCMP officers arrested the man and he actively resisted their efforts to get him into handcuffs, according to police. After a short confrontation between the man and officers, he was taken into police custody. As a precautionary measure, the man was transported to hospital to ensure his well-being.

The man is being charged with assault and resisting arrest. He was held in custody and appeared in Provincial Court on March 6.
