Police investigate incident of man in truck following elementary student

Police are on the lookout for the male driver of a white truck who followed an elementary school student on Tuesday.

The incident occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 19 near Heritage Elementary School in Prince George. The student departed the school on foot and noticed the truck parked nearby. The driver began to follow the child in his truck, taking the same route that the child was walking. The driver did not attempt to communicate with the student, however, followed the student for several blocks in his truck. It was last seen near the intersection of Corless Crescent and Tabor Boulevard. The driver was the lone occupant of the vehicle.

The male driver was described as:

  • Caucasian
  • 20-30 years old
  • Having short hair and a long beard
  • Wearing a flat brimmed baseball hat

The truck was described as a white Ford truck with four doors and a black tailgate.

The investigation into this occurrence is continuing. The Prince George RCMP would like to speak to the person involved and/or any witnesses to the incident.
