Cosplay superstar Leeanna Vamp has traveled the world in search of the unknown. Now her thirst for the unexpected is taking her deep in the mountains of British Columbia and the historic town of Barkerville where she’ll lead a documentary that seeks to unravel the mystery of a haunted 19th-century theatre. Her investigation will reveal the true story behind the ghost of enigmatic gold rush pioneer Florence Wilson – a lady of many secrets.
Wicked Ways with Vamp is the latest in a series of film and television productions rooted in the central interior of British Columbia, Canada and born from the locally organized fan festival Northern FanCon. It will be filmed by Barker Street Cinema, the company behind The Doctor’s Case, 2018’s award-winning short film based on the story of the same name by Stephen King.
This expository and experimental documentary is a pilot for a planned travel series which will see LeeAnna investigate other supernatural stories across North America and the world. Wicked Ways with Vamp will also feature narration by actor Mark Meer, the voice of Commander Shephard from the Mass Effect video game series and star of Tiny Plastic Men on Amazon Prime.
Vamp’s extensive resume in the world of pop culture has seen her appear as the event host for AMC at both San Diego and New York Comic Cons, host of the red carpet of AMC’s The Walking Dead, and star in the Syfy series Cosplay Melee. She most recently served as a judge on Food Network’s Halloween Wars.
Wicked Ways with Vamp became a reality thanks to executive producers Brent Marshall and Cameron and Tammy Thun. The project will feature an assembly of local talent including directors James Douglas and Norm Coyne, the latter also co-writing the documentary with Chris Dias. The production team will include Douglas, Coyne and frequent collaborator Kim Feragen.
The series pilot for Wicked Ways with Vamp will be filmed this June with a release date later this year.
