Police are continuing to investigate a shooting in the 500-block of Alward Street this past weekend.
Police say they were called to the scene at about 11:15 p.m. Saturday. Several police officers attended the area and located an unoccupied, insecure residence. Information provided by witnesses, as well as evidence at the scene, have led police to believe that an exchange of gunfire occurred between the occupant(s) of a vehicle and the occupant(s) of the residence. The vehicle and occupant(s) of the house fled the area before police were called. At least one bullet pierced the exterior wall of a neighbouring home. No injuries have been reported. The vehicle has been described as a dark-coloured sedan.
A police dog service team located a firearm near the residence and tracked a scent for several blocks, however no one was located. The two adult residents of the house have been located and spoken to.
Investigators believe this incident was targeted and not a random act. The investigation is continuing.
