Woman charged with aggravated assault after lip-biting incident

A Prince George woman is facing charges after allegedly biting off a piece of another woman’s lower lip.

Prince George RCMP say they were called out to a residence on North Nechako Road at about 1:30 a.m. Friday. When officers arrived, they found a woman missing a portion of her lower lip.  Paramedics transported her to hospital for treatment.  Investigators believe the lip was bitten during a physical altercation between women known to each other and that alcohol was a factor.

Hailee Marie Kowalchuk, a 26-year-old Prince George resident, was arrested at the scene and has been charged with aggravated assault, assault, and failing to comply with a probation order.

She has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in Prince George Provincial court on Wednesday January 30.

The investigation is continuing.
