The YMCA of Northern B.C.’ annual Megathon got a mega-boost Wednesday as the Brink Group of Companies signed on as a major sponsor with a $3,000 donation.
The annual event, slated for Saturday, March 9 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. is a major fundraiser for the YMCA’s Strong Kids program, will have it all … cycle-thon, Zumba-thon, aerobics-thon.
About 100 people, either as individuals or teams, will take part in fitness classes, Zumba classes, aerobics exercises, circuit training, bootcamp and more during the morning of the Megathon, while raising money for the YMCA. Participants can raise money by simply paying to register for the Megathon or collect pledges. Or, if fitness isn’t your thing, you can donate at any time during the year online or in person.
“We’re super excited to work with the Brink Group,” said Amanda Alexander, CEO of the YMCA of Northern B.C.
“It’s a privilege for the Brink Group of Companies to, for the second year in a row, be title sponsor for the Megathon,” said John Brink, founder and CEO of the Brink Group of Companies. “For us it is a special event because this particular program, and the fundraiser, helps under privileged kids to participate in programs at the Y and summer camp.”
