Spruce Kings shut out Cowichan Valley

Getting even with a team you just played isn’t always easy but it can be satisfying.

A week after falling 5-2 decision to the Cowichan Valley Capitals, the Prince George Spruce Kings showed some push back winning 3-0 on Friday at the Rolling Mix Concrete Arena.

Patrick Cozzi and Nicholas Poisson lit the lamp to give the hosts a 2-0 lead after one period.

Ben Brar notched his team-leading 24th of the season stretching the Spruce Kings advantage to 3-0 at the conclusion of the middle frame.

The Caps were outshot 38-22, Prince George went two-for-eight on the power-play.

Logan Neaton collected the 22-save shutout.

Prince George is a point up on Chilliwack for top spot in the Mainland Division with the Chiefs having two games in hand.
