Prince George Cougars

The Prince George Cougars made their long-awaited return home and marked it by scoring a season-high seven goals, in their 7-2 thumping of the Kelowna Rockets.

Friday was the Cougars first home game since December 2, and they wasted little time giving their fans something to cheer about. The Cougars came out of the blocks running, scoring four goals on 17 shots in the first period, chasing Rockets’ starter Roman Basran.

The line of Ethan Browne, Vladislav Mikhalchuk and Josh Maser combined for eight points and the three swept the three stars. Browne (1-2-3) and Mikhalchuk (0-3-3) each had three-points and so too did defenceman Cole Moberg (2-1-3). Joel Lakusta also chipped in with a pair of assists. The goals came from Maser (2), Moberg (2), Browne, Jack Sander and Matéj Toman. In all 12 Cougars recorded at least a single point.
