The Cariboo Cougars opened the Mac’s Tournament in Calgary with a tie Wednesday.
The Cougars came from behind to earn at 2-2 against the Calgary Flames.
The Flames opened up a 2-0 lead on goals from Matthew Mazzocchi and Kayden Smith. The Cougars fought back in the third on goals from Pigeon Brendan and Daniel Booker.
Devin Chapman made 34 saves in the Cougars’ net while Jared Whale made 18 saves in the Flames net.
The Cougars will be back on the ice on Friday as they take on the Brampton 45’s.
