All of the College Heights volleyball team members and support staff injured in a crash near Cache Creek yesterday have been released from hospital.
Shortly after noon yesterday, a van carrying the College Heights Secondary School senior girls’ volleyball team crashed just north of Cache Creek. There were no fatalities, however, a number of girls were taken to Kamloops Hospital for medical treatment.
As of 8:30 p.m. yesterday evening, all girls had been assessed, treated and released from Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops. according to a statement posted on the School District 57 website.
“Our players and the family members who had traveled to join them stayed together at a hotel,” reads the statements. “Plans for all involved to drive home today are in place. Prince George and School District No. 57 looks forward to welcoming them home. School District No. 57 (Prince George) will continue to support those involved and the College Heights Secondary School Community as is needed.”
The team was on their way to the provincial championships in Powell River.
