College Heights volleyball players involved in crash near Cache Creek

A van carrying the College Height Secondary School girls volleyball team crashed north of Cache Creek Tuesday, injuring several of the girls.

Two adults and 10 students were in the van when it crashed shortly after noon. Five of the people in the van were transported to hospital in Kamloops with non-life-threatening injuries.

The team was heading to the B.C. high school championships in Powell River.

“Our thoughts are with those involved, including their families and friends,” said College Heights principal Randy Halpape in a letter posted on the school’s website. “School District 57 will continue to support the College Heights Secondary School community as is needed.”
