Blades cut down the Cougars

The Prince George Cougars couldn’t build on an early goal, as the Saskatoon Blades came back to score a 4-1-win Saturday night at the CN Centre. Mike MacLean scored two-minutes into the first, but the Blades rallied for two goals in the first and two more in the third, as they won the opening game of their B.C. Division road trip. Saturday was the Cougars final home game, before embarking on a two-game cross-border road trip to Tri-City and Spokane early next week.

GAME NOTES

SEASON SUMMARY: The Cougars won two of their five games on the home stand as their home record now sits at 6-8-0-1 through 15-games. Through 24 games this season, the Cougars are 10-11-1-2, sitting third in the B.C. Division. Through 24 games last season, the Cougars were 9-11-2-2.

BLUE-LINE PUNCH: Joel Lakusta’s assist Saturday gives him five points (1-4-5) in his last five games. Laskuta has 13 points (4-9-13) through 23 games this season. He’ll play his 200thcareer regular season game on December 1st, against Victoria.

UP NEXT: The Cougars (10-11-1-2) hit the road for two games early next week. The Cougars visit the Tri-City Americans on Tuesday and the Spokane Chiefs on Wednesday. The Cougars return to the CN Centre on December 1stand 2ndagainst the Victoria Royals.
