With just nine days left to go, about 25 per cent of ballots for the referendum on electoral reform have been returned.
Elections BC reports that, as of 8:20 this morning, approximately 810,000 packages have been received. This does not include packages that have been received by Canada Post but not yet transferred to Elections BC.
Prince George voters are slightly behind the provincial average with 5,068 of 33,078 ballots returned in the Prince George-Mackenzie riding for a return rate of 15.3 per cent. The numbers are similar in Prince George-Valemount where 5,407 of 34,600 ballots have been returned for return rate of 15.6 per cent.
In Nechako Lake 2,389 of 16,825 ballots have been returned for a return rate of 14.2 per cent.
If you haven’t received a voting package, you have until midnight, November 23 to request one.

With possible postal disruptions, residents are encouraged to mail their ballots in sooner rather than later. The deadline for Elections BC to receive your ballot is 4:30 p.m. Friday, November 30.
