After intense deliberation, the CN Centre and the Prince George Cougars announced that their wacky waving inflatable arm flailing tube man…or air dancer, for short – now has a name,
His name is … Harold!
Congratulations to Fran Daniels who suggested:
“The idea for Mr. PG originated with Harold Moffat in the late 1950s, who believed Prince George needed a mascot to promote the forest industry and represent the city.”
Only fitting because Harold Moffat believes Prince George needed a mascot.
“Harold both represents the legacy of our community, plus it also represents our air dancer who heralds events,” reads a CN Centre news release. “The definition of herald includes:
“1. an official messenger bringing news.
“2. a person or thing viewed as a sign that something is about to happen.”
Fran Daniels wins usage of the CN Centre Luxury Suite, which includes 11 tickets, to the Prince George Cougars vs. Regina Pats game on Friday, November 23.
