One person dead following two-vehicle crash near Norman Lake

One person is dead following a two-vehicle crash Wednesday on Highway 16 near Norman Lake.

The accident occurred at about 5:15 p.m. and Highway 16 was closed for several hours.

Police say that a Toyota pickup had crossed the centreline and hit a Ford Escape. The head-on collision resulted in the death of the driver and lone occupant of the pickup, a 23-year-old man. Both occupants of the Ford were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

While police continue to investigate, the casual factors are not yet known. It was determined that the pickup truck had been reported stolen out of Prince George a few weeks prior to the collision.

The highway had been shut down to all traffic but has since reopened. Anyone with information on this crash is asked to call the RCMP at 250 649-4004 or Crime Stoppers at 1 800 222-8477
