Two men charged with attempted murder following Dawson Creek shooting

A 30-year-old man is recovering from multiple gunshot wounds and two other men are in custody following a shooting in Dawson Creek Friday.

The call came in at about 10:30 p.m. and police responded to the an area near the intersection of Alaska Hwy and 17th Street where the found a 30-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The investigation has resulted in the arrest of two men. Ghislain Cormier, 22, and and Chase Schwab, 20, have both been charged with attempted murder and forcible confinement as well as multiple firearms-related offences.

Both men remain in police custody and will appear in Provincial Court on Tuesday November 13. Police believe this to be a targeted offence and have no information to suggest that the greater public is at further risk.
