Spruce Kings beat Bulldogs 2-1

The Prince George Spruce Kings managed a 2-1 victory over the Alberni Valley Bulldogs Friday, in a game dominated by the Spruce Kings.

Prince George fired 45 shots at John Hawthorne in the Bulldogs’ net, while Logan Neaton stopped all but one of the 19 shots coming his way.

Corey Cunningham scored late in the first to give the Spruce Kings the early lead. Alberni Valley tied it up in the second Grayson Valente scored late in the middle frame.

The winner came about five minutes into the third off the stick of Craig MacDonald.

Next up for the Spruce Kings will be the Penticton Vees who are in town tonight. Game time is 7 p.m. at the Rolling Mix Concrete Arena.
