The Prince George Cougars ended their four-game winless streak on Friday, with a convincing 4-1 win over the Seattle Thunderbirds at the CN Centre. The Cougars scored all four of their goals in the first period, two coming on the power-play. Isaiah DiLaura turned aside 21 of 22 shots for his second win of the season.
STREAKS: Josh Maser extended his goal-scoring streak to four games and his point streak (4-3-7) to six-games with his first period tally. Vladislav Mikhalchuk now has two goals and six-points in his last three games. Cole Moberg has two goals and six-points in the last four games.
FAST START: The Cougars four first period goals is a new season-high for the opening frame. They previous best was three, which was set on Tuesday against Brandon. Also, their 17 first period shots is a new season-best. The previous high was 16.
OVERDUE:Friday was the Cougars first regular season win against the Thunderbirds since December 16th, 2016, snapping a five-game winless streak.
