A disastrous second period was the downfall for the Prince George Spruce Kings Sunday as the Coquitlam Express scored four times in the middle frame en route to a 5-3 win.

The Spruce Kings had a strong start as Ben Brar scored a shorthanded goal and a powerplay goal to give the Spruce Kings at 2-0 lead after the first. Then the roof fell in and the Express had a 4-2 lead by the end of the second. The Express extended the lead to 5-2 early in the third. Corey Cunningham notched one late to get the Spruce Kings within two.
