A man with a hammer attempted to rob two other men Monday morning, injuring one of the victims in the process.
Police say the two men were walking near 17th Avenue and Larch Street at about 9:30 a.m. when a man wearing a mask approached them and demanded their phones. The two men refused and the suspect produced what was believed to have been a hammer. One victim was struck on the head before the suspect fled on foot empty handed. The suspect was not located. The injured victim was treated in hospital and released.
The suspect was described as:
- Caucasian male
- 20 to 30 years old
- Wearing a red jacket, loose black pants, and a mask covering his face
The investigation is continuing.
