Universities hold information session

Ten BC universities and colleges are hosting a free public post-secondary information night on Thursday, Oct 4 starting at 7 p.m. in the area called the Canfor Wintergarden on the UNBC campus.

This is the fifth year that PSI-BC is hosting the evening for parents and high school students, allowing them to access information directly from institutions as they look ahead to making decisions on which college or university program they might attend.

While post-secondary reps have visited high schools in the region for many years, the school-hour schedule has traditionally made it difficult for parents to participate in the conversation. The format of the evening will allow parents and students to interact directly with representatives from all 10 institutions in attendance.

PSI-BC is a collaborative of BC post-secondary institution recruitment offices working together as partners to support students, parents and high school counsellors in BC high schools. The PSI mandate is to assist students and parents with finding both the institution and the program of study that best fits their personal strengths and career objectives.

ATTENDING INSTITUTIONS:

BCIT; Canadian Forces/RMC; Capilano University; College of New Caledonia; Simon Fraser University [SFU]; Thompson Rivers University [TRU]; Trinity Western University [TWU]; University of British Columbia [UBC]; University of Northern BC [UNBC]; and University of Victoria [UVIC].
