Cyclist killed Monday now identified, police not releasing name

Police have now identified the cyclist killed when she hit a tractor-trailer unit Monday as a 47-year-old Prince George resident.  However, police will not be releasing her name. 

The accident occurred at about 4:40 p.m. Monday at the intersection of First Avenue and Queensway.

Police say the adult female cyclist collided with the trailer after the tractor trailer turned onto Queensway off First Avenue.  Investigators believe the cyclist was traveling on the wrong side of the road and on the sidewalk just prior to the collision.  The BC Coroners Service, Commercial Vehicle Safety Enforcement and a RCMP Traffic Reconstructionist were called and attended the scene.
