Punjabi Senior Society bike ride helps Spirit of the North

The ninth annual Bike-A-Thon sponsored by the Punjabi Canadian Senior Society departed from the Guru Nanak Darbar Sikh Temple at 9 a.m. this morning en route to Purden Lake. Since 2010, the Bike-A-Thon has raised nearly $112,000 to support healthcare initiatives in northern B.C. through Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation. This year’s amount raised has not been determined yet. Over the years they have supported our areas of greatest need, including the regional cardiac campaign, Optos OCT-SLO for the eye clinic, and Spect CT Scanner. This year’s Bike-A-Thon will support Spirit of the North's current campaign to raise funds for a dedicated maternal operating room at the University Hospital of Northern BC.
