Two men injured in shooting in Quesnel

Two men are in hospital in Quesnel following an early morning shooting in the city.

Quesnel RCMP were called out to Abbott Drive in West Quesnel at about 4:30 a.m. Thursday.

Police officers located a vehicle believed to be involved in the incident, parked in the 500 block of Doherty Drive. Enquiries at a neighbouring apartment building resulted in police finding two men suffering from gunshot wounds. Both men were transported to hospital with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

The North District Emergency Response Team, Police Dog Services from Prince George as well as a Forensic Identification Team from Williams Lake have all attended to provide assistance to the Quesnel Detachment. The general public is not believed to be at risk at this time.

This investigation is in its early stages and remains active. Police ask anyone who may have witnessed this incident or anything suspicious on the West Side of Quesnel between 4:15 a.m. to 4:45 a.m. to call the Quesnel RCMP with their information at (250) 992-9211 or BC Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
