It was anything but quiet in the 100 Mile House Library Tuesday evening as a fight broke out between two men, leaving one hospitalized and the other facing charges.
100 Mile House RCMP were called to the public library on Birch Avenue shortly before 8 p.m., where two men were reported to be in a physical altercation. One man had been injured and was taken to hospital for medical treatment after he was apparently stabbed. His injuries have been described as serious but non-life-threatening.
A suspect was located a short distance for the scene and arrested without incident. He remains in police custody and is scheduled to make an appearance in provincial court today.
Both men are known to each other and the police do not believe there is a further risk to the greater public.
These two men, along with other unknown individuals had been involved in an altercation earlier in the evening. Anyone who may have been in the area between 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on August 21 2018 and may possibly have video footage, like cell phone or dash cam video are encouraged to contact the RCMP.
Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed either of the altercations, to contact the 100 Mile RCMP at 250 395-2456.
