Weekend impaired driving campaign nets results

The Prince George RCMP Municipal Traffic Section and General Duty Section conducted an impaired driving campaign over the weekend.

Detachment RCMP officers conducted road checks, traffic stops in key areas, and responded to reports of impaired drivers. In total 17 drivers, who were impaired / effected by alcohol or drugs, were removed from the roadway. The following is a breakdown of these numbers: 

  • 2 – Criminal Code charges related to impaired driving.
  • 6 – 90 day driving prohibitions, which include a mandatory 30 day impound.
  • 9 – Other motor vehicle act prohibitions related to impairment by alcohol or drugs.

The Prince George RCMP will continue to be focusing on impaired driving.
