For the second summer in a row, Tourism Prince George and The Community Arts Council are celebrating an “Artnership.”
The Artnership program features local artists in the Prince George Visitor Centre working on their artform. The Visitor Centre provides a space for artists to showcase their works with travellers coming to or through the city. This summer there is a particular focus on Indigenous artists from the region participating in the Artnership.
Four artists have agreed to participate in the program and will be in the Visitor Centre throughout August. The next artist, Carla Joseph will be at Tourism Prince George on August 2 from 7 a.m.-11 a.m.
“We are very pleased to continue this partnership for the second summer, as this is a wonderful opportunity to recognize local artists and to show off their amazing talent to our visitors,” said Erica Hummel, Tourism Prince George CEO.
Lisa Redpath, Program Manager at Studio 2880 added: “I’m always pleased to help facilitate these opportunities for our local artists and working with our community partners we all help create a vibrant arts culture for both visitors and local residents alike. Our local arts and cultural community plays an important part of who we are as a society and tells the story of our community.”
