According to Environment Canada, the mercury topped out at 33.1 degrees Celsius, making it the hottest July 29 on record in Prince George. The previous record was set in 1998 when we reached a high of 32.7 degrees Celsius.
There is a good chance we’ll break another record today as the record high for July 30 in Prince George is 31.7 degrees, set in 1960.
The hot weather, which has brought smoky conditions as well, isn’t expected to last. The forecast has a 60 per cent chance of rain tomorrow and is calling for cloudy and rainy conditions for the rest of the week.
