Police on lookout for man in van seen giving teenage girl a ride

Prince George RCMP are on the lookout for the driver of a grey van who picked up a teenaged girl near the Massey Drive skate park Monday afternoon.

The incident occurred shortly after 1 p.m. Witnesses observed the male driver stop the van in the turn lane at the intersection of Massey Drive and Carney Street, and pick up the girl. The witnesses believed that the girl may have been in distress and phoned police. The van was last seen headed northbound on Carney Street towards 15th Avenue.

The man is described as being 50 years of age, 5’10” tall, with grey hair and scruffy facial hair. He was wearing a grey shirt with ripped jeans, and driving an older model grey minivan. The girl is described as 12-14 years old, 5’2” tall, wearing a checkered tank top, and having short brown hair with blue streaks in it. The relationship between the two is unknown at this time.

Investigators would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this incident and to the person(s) involved to ensure the safety of all parties.
