It’s that time of year again where fire training at the Prince George Airport (YXS) is taking place.
Locals are reminded these fires pose no threat to the public or surrounding areas. These fires are held in self-contained training facilities under controlled circumstances and are part of ongoing recurrent fire training and certification.
Training is scheduled to take place tomorrow, Wednesday, June 20 and Thursday, June 21 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. These fires may produce dark smoke in and around the airport area which has, in the past, caused concern from local residents resulting in increased call volumes to your agencies.
