Human remains found at a house fire in the Charlie Lake area March 30 have been identified as those of the homeowner, John Banky.
His death is now considered as a homicide.
Fort St. John RCMP were called to the house, on Hannaford Road in the Charlie Lake area, around 3 a.m. March 30. Human remains were found inside the burned home. At about 6:30 a.m. the same day, police received a report that the Hannaford Road homeowner’s vehicle was on fire on Golf Course Road in the Charlie Lake area.
Investigators believe Banky’s death is a homicide. As in any investigation, the police require and are asking for assistance from the public to continue to advance this investigation.
