Prince George Ford sponsors a room at Hospice House

The Prince George Hospice Society is thrilled that Prince George Ford has donated $25,000 in support of renovations at the Rotary Hospice House.

One of the rooms will be named Prince George Ford in honour of the support.

In 2019 the 10  guests rooms at the Rotary Hospice House will be 10 years old. For more than a decade 335+ guests have utilized these rooms and received the compassionate care that hospice provides.  Over the years the rooms have experience wear and tear from regular daily use.

“We are seeking $25,000 from business or community members to sponsor the renovations required to ensure these rooms reflect the appropriate equipment and aesthetic that provide our guests with the home like setting we pride ourselves in furnishing, says Donna Flood, Hospice executive director. “Specialized lifts and beds are in need of replacement to maintain the highest level of comfort for our guests, along with comfortable space for family caregivers to remain at the bedside.”

Renovations will include medical equipment including mechanical lifts, new furniture, repairs and painting to walls.

The Yellowhead Rotary has also come forward with $25,000 and will continue to have a room named in memory of Del Laverdure, a Yellowhead Rotarian.

The Prince George Hospice Society is looking for other corporations or individual to sponsor other rooms in the Hospice House.

“Rotary Hospice House is definitely  the House that Prince George has built and we appreciate the communities on going support,” says Flood.
