City of Prince George will be closing access to Paddlewheel Park this afternoon due to rising river water levels. Staff have placed signs and barricades at the location to alert residents.

Yesterday, the city closed the island in Cottonwood Island Nature Park. Access to the canoe launch at the park and to a small area just north of the railway bridge are also blocked.

Staff are continuing to monitor river levels.
