Ten people were arrested after police raided two homes simultaneously in the 800 block of Lotbiniere Street in Prince Rupert.
Police officers from the Prince Rupert Crime Reduction Unit, Plain Clothes Section, General Duty and the Terrace Police Dog Service executed two search warrants on the two homes at approximately 5:30 a.m.
As a result of a search of the homes police located and seized the following:
- 9 ounces of Cocaine;
- 24 grams of Crack Cocaine;
- 9.62 ounces of Marijuana;
- 2.5 ounces of Marijuana resin;
- Packaging materials;
- Scales;
- Approximately $7,000.00.
Ten people were arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking. The drugs seized estimated in a total street value of approximately $40,000.00.
“This is a significant seizure removing a large amount of drugs off of our streets,” said Acting Detachment Commander S/Sgt. Dave Uppal. “These homes were in a close proximity to a school, which can pose a threat to our youth”.
The investigation is ongoing and further information will be provided when it is available.
