One person was injured in an early morning shooting inside a motel on Queensway early this morning.
Police were called shortly after 8 a.m. to the Queensway Court Motel, which is a pay-by-the-month hotel.
“We located an adult male suffering from what is believed to be a gunshot wound,” said Cpl. Craig Douglass, RCMP spokesperson. “The person or persons responsible had fled.”
The man was transported to hospital and his condition is not known at this time.
More than one suspect fled the scene in a vehicle before police arrived. Investigators enlisted the assistance of the Detachment’s Police Dog Service Unit and the North District RCMP’s Air 4 helicopter. The Prince George RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit are leading the investigation.
“At this point there are no suspects in custody,” said Douglass. “We’re looking for information from the public, any information at all, to catch the person or persons responsible.”
Douglass said police believe it was a targeted shooting.
