Do you like supporting a major charity in town and are you looking to purchase a new house?
You can both at the same time this year thanks to the Copper Project. The Copper Project is an initiative established by Copper Falls Custom Homes. This year, Copper Falls along with many of their sub-contractors, suppliers and trades, will build a 3,084-square-foot rancher house in the new Aberdeen Glen area of Prince George. Upon sale of the house, the net proceeds will be donated to Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation to support better health outcomes for patients in the North.
“We live and raise our children in Prince George, and want the best services available if and when it is needed,” said Jeff Stewart and Brent Scheck, owners at CopperFalls, in a joint release. “Health care has touched us in many ways already and it is our way of doing what we do best and working with those who support us to collectively have an impact.”
In 2017 Brent Scheck of Scheck Construction and Jeff Stewart of Sequoia Signature Homes decided after 28 combined years of building their individual companies and reputations that they wanted to combine efforts and formed Copper Falls Custom Homes.
They feel that the community supports them in the work that they do and presented the opportunity for a collective way that all those who contribute to building a home could be a part of – The CopperFalls Project was born. They were overwhelmed by the support for their initiative.
Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation works on behalf of their donors to support the purchase of equipment, education and enhancements to healthcare. Recent campaigns have supported the new Breast Health Imaging Centre and Cardiac ECHO ultrasounds along with many pieces of equipment that will make early detection and more accurate diagnosis possible along with reduced wait times. Working collaboratively with physicians and Northern Health they are able to identify which equipment will have the biggest impact for residents in the North.
“Spirit of the North is incredibly proud to work with CopperFalls on this project,” said Judy Neiser, CEO for Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation. “They see their success in the community linked to better health outcomes for those of us who live, work, and play in the community and have come up with a wonderful way to give back to the community through their profession. It’s an amazing project?”
