Leppard makes the grade in final NHL draft rankings

Prince George Cougars forward Jackson Leppard is included in NHL Central Scouting’s final draft rankings, ahead of the 2018 NHL Draft in Dallas, Texas. NHL Central Scouting released it’s final rankings this morning and Leppard is ranked 122nd amongst North American skaters.

Leppard set career highs in goals (15), assists (21) and points (36) in 68 games in his sophomore season. Leppard was selected by the Cougars in the first round (8th Overall) in the 2015 WHL Bantam Draft. He appeared in two games as an under-ager during the 2015-16 season and joined the team full-time in 2016-17. During his first WHL season Leppard appeared in 35 games and notched two goals and two assists for four points. In November 2016 Leppard represented Team Canada at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in Ontario.

Former Cougars Justin Almeida (Moose Jaw) and Kody McDonald (Prince Albert)are ranked 88th and 178th respectively amongst North American Skaters.
