Regional District briefs


The Regional District of Fraser-Fort George is entering into a contract to provide 9-1-1 services to the Regional District of Central Kootenay. As part of the five-year agreement, the RDFFG will provide 9-1-1 call taking and fire dispatch and communications services. The value of the contract is $88,145 per year. The Regional District is also providing 9-1-1 services to the Cariboo, Bulkley-Nechako and Kitimat-Stikine Regional Districts.

Support for Northwest Invasive Plant Council

The Regional District of Fraser-Fort George is providing $25,000 in Community Grants in Aid to the Northwest Invasive Plant Council. The council works to prevent and minimize the spread of invasive plants in our region. Funding from the grant will go to support the operation of the council and programs to educate the public about invasive plants.

Regional District assists Baldy Hughes with wastewater support

The Regional District of Fraser-Fort George is assisting the BC New Hope Recovery Society with support for its waste water services at its Baldy Hughes location. As part of the agreement, the Regional District will operate and maintain the system. The Regional District provides wastewater treatment facility operation services to five facilities within the region. The addition of Baldy Hughes provides an opportunity for more service efficiency for both the Regional District and the BC New Hope Recovery Society.
