Global Meetings Industry Day reception set for April 12

In support of leaders coming together for the third annual Global Meetings Industry Day, Tourism Prince George and the Prince George Conference and Civic Centre will be hosting an Ambassador’s Reception (formerly Champion’s Reception).

The invitation-only event will take place on the evening of April 12 to coincide with Global Meetings Industry Day. The purpose of the reception is to acknowledge and celebrate those individuals who have chosen Prince George as their premier meeting and convention destination host city, or who have provided services for all events.

“This is the second annual Ambassador’s Reception and is an excellent way to recognize local meeting hosts and event planners that bring economic impact into the community through meetings and conventions,” said Tourism Prince George CEO Erica Hummel, in a news release.

“Estimated economic impact for the city in 2017 directly related to meetings and conferences being held at thePrince George Conference and Civic Centre was $ 10,018,196,” said Myles Tycholis, Manager of Events and Civic Centre. “Prince George saw approximately 10,225 non-resident delegates and exhibitors attend events at the civic centre in 2017, with the average non-resident delegate spending approximately $673 and the average non-resident exhibitor spending approximately $1,586.”
