Winter storm warning for Pine Pass, Peace River area

Environment Canada has issued a winter storm warning for the Pine Pass and the North and South Peace River areas for today.

Further snowfall accumulations of up to 10 centimetres today. A Pacific low pressure system has moved into central Alberta early this morning. The low will continue to give snow to the Peace River districts giving further accumulations of five to 10 cm. The snow will ease this afternoon as the low departs to the east.

Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve. Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Weather in the mountains can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions.

ShiftIntoWinter.ca reminds drivers to know before you go. Adjust to winter driving behaviour and use winter tires and chains.
