Fire departments busy in February


Prince George Fire Rescue Services was busy in February, responding to 571 calls for service during the month.

The majority of the calls, 446 of them, were medical calls, 53 of them were rescue calls, 51 of them fire calls, and 21 were administrative calls.

For the first two months of 2018, the fire department has responded to 1,203 calls – 936 were medical, 111 were rescue, 109 were fire, and 47 administrative.

The Pineview Volunteer Fire Department was the busiest among rural firehalls, with 20 calls for service in February. Of those 10 were medical, eight were rescue, and two were fire.

Beaverly Fire Rescue had 15 calls for service in February. Of those eight were medical, five were rescue, one was fire, and one was administrative.

The Prince George Highway Rescue responded to 14 calls during the month, nine were for rescue, four for administrative reasons, and one for fire.
