Employees at a well site near Pouce Coupe were forced to evacuate when fire engulfed the property early Monday morning.
Dawson Creek RCMP report the fire call came in at 1:40 a.m. at the well site located on the 211 Rd south of Pouce Coupe.
The Dawson Creek RCMP were notified that all employees had been evacuated and accounted for and there were no reports of any injuries. The Pouce Coupe and Dawson Creek fire departments attended and attempted to control the fire and keep it from spreading to further equipment.
The Dawson Creek RCMP evacuated the residences surrounding the well site as a safety precaution and confirmed that all residents were safe. The fire crews contained the fire and reported that it was extinguished approximately five hours after the initial report.
Fire investigators arrived on scene and took over the investigation.
