Cariboo Cougars

The Cariboo Cougars advanced to the second round against the Thompson Blazers on Saturday following a tense 2-1 win over the Thompson Blazers.

Brennan Malgunas and Hunter Floris lit the lamp for the defending BC Major Midget Hockey League champs, spoiling a masterful effort from Blazers netminder Ethan Langenegger.

Marcus Allen scored both wins during the series.

The Cougars will have to wait until Sunday to find out their second round opponent after Valley West doubled up the Vancouver NE Chiefs to force a game three.

Complicating matters further, was an upset sweep by the VNW Giants who stunned the Okanagan Rockets in two straight.

Cariboo is back on the ice for the second round March 23rd to 25th at Kin 1 Arena.
