Premier John Horgan will deliver the keynote luncheon address at the 15th annual B.C. Natural Resources Forum in Prince George Wednesday.
In addition, he won’t be the only member of the new NDP government attending the forum, organized by Liberal MLA Mike Morris.
Attending a minister’s breakfast on Wednesday will be Bruce Ralston, BC Minister of Jobs, Trade and Technology; Doug Donaldson, BC Minister of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development; Michelle Mungall, BC Minister of Energy, Mines & Petroleum Resources; George Heyman, Minister of Environment and Climate Change Strategy; Scott Fraser, BC Minister of Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation. George Chow, Minister of State for Trade, will take part in one of the panel discussions.
Not to be left out, federal government will also be represented by Jim Carr, Minister of Natural Resources who, along with Dr. Daniel Muzyka, President and CEO, The Conference Board of Canada, will speak at the opening banquet Tuesday evening.
Other big names in attendance for the three-day conference that starts Tuesday evening at the Civic Centre include Perry Bellegarde, national Chief of the Assembly of First Nations, who will give the keynote opening address Wednesday morning.
Megan Leslie, president and CEO of the World Wildlife Fund, will take part in one of the panel discussions Wednesday morning.
Skeena MLA Ellis Ross will give the keynote luncheon presentation on Thursday.
Panel discussions held throughout the conference will touch on topics such as Balancing Socio-Economic, Cultural and Environmental Values, Forestry and Forest Products, International Trade, Employment, Technology and Innovation, Finance and Business, Minerals and Mining, and Energy, Oil and Gas.
