The Prince George Spruce Kings couldn’t dig themselves out of a 4-0 third period hole as they fell 4-2 to the West Kelowna Warriors on Saturday from the Rolling Mix Concrete Arena.

Michael Ryan was the lone goal scorer in the game through two periods as he scored late in the second period to give West Kelowna a 1-0 edge.

The Warriors cranked up the heat in the third with three more goals in the first five minutes courtesy of RJ Murphy, Willie Reim and Jared Marino.

Prince George didn’t get on the board until 7:44 of the period when Dustin Manz scored on the power-play, slipping one past Warriors goaltender Cole Demers making it a 4-1 game.

Kyle Johnson potted his 12th of the BCHL season in game’s final minute to officially cut the lead in half.

The Spruce Kings went one-for-seven on the man advantage.

Evan DeBrouwer made 29 saves in defeat.

Prince George is now 12-10-2-3 on the season and sit third in the Mainland Division.

The Spruce Kings return home next Friday and Saturday against the Coquitlam Express.
