Prince George city council will have several items before it tonight:
- Council will be examining a request for a liquor licence from the Canadian Brewhouse and Grill on Recplace Drive. The restaurant has 298 seats, 190 indoors and 108 on the outdoor patio. The hours of service are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. City staff is recommending the request be approved. The Liquor Control and Licensing Branch has the final say.
- Council will be also be examining a rezoning request for two lots at 1616 Eighth Avenue, in the Crescents. The application is being brought forward Bruce Johnston for 1127695 B.C. Ltd., Inc. No. BC1127695, and the plans are to construct a new LEED certified mixed-use building on the subject properties, which will be comprised of an office use on the main floor and a residential dwelling on the second floor. In order to facilitate this proposal, the applicant has applied to rezone the subject properties from RS4: Urban Residential to C8: Commercial Conversion. Staff is recommending giving first two readings to the rezoning request and hold off third reading until the two lots are consolidated.
- Council will also consider a request to close the walkway area off Chartwell Avenue with the intent to sell the closed walkway to the adjacent property owner, Kodiak Electric Ltd. The proposed walkway closure provides the owner the ability to consolidate same with their adjacent property.
- Council is also expected to give fourth and final reading to its Responsible Animal Ownership bylaw, which updates the previous animal control bylaw.
