One person is in hospital after a home invasion and robbery on the weekend.
Police report that about 9:20 p.m. they responded to the call in the 2200 block of Spruce Street.
Officers attended and located man suffering from injuries consistent with being stabbed with an edged weapon and struck with a blunt object. He was transported to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Initial indications were that two-to-four masked males pushed their way into the residence demanding money and jewelry. One of the suspects was in possession of a handgun. A struggle ensued. The victim was stabbed and the suspects fled empty-handed before police were called.
All suspects were wearing dark clothing. At least one was Caucasian and at least one was of First Nations decent.
Patrols were made for the suspects, however none were located.
